But I couldn’t. I took a few careful photos, my hands shaking more than I wanted to admit.

Later, I showed the pictures to friends, neighbors, even posted in a local group. No one knew.

Only after digging through wildlife forums and comparison images did the truth finally appear: it was a squirrel embryo, an unborn baby squirrel. Suddenly, that ordinary walk felt heavier. Life, interrupted mid-story,
