I thought a rude stranger had simply ruined my anniversary plans. Then my husband canceled at the last minute, and one strange comment from her made me wonder what was really happening. I’d planned a surprise anniversary dinner for my husband and me. Richard had been working longer hours lately, and our evenings together had started feeling rushed. I wanted one night that belonged to us. Nothing complicated. Just dinner, good food, and a chance to remember why we had chosen each other in the first place.
