At only 17 years old, Pattie Mallette discovered that she was pregnant while facing serious personal and financial challenges.
According to Mallette’s own account, people around her encouraged her to consider an abortion. Despite the pressure and uncertainty surrounding her future, she decided to continue the pregnancy and raise her child.
On March 1, 1994, she gave birth to her son, Justin Bieber.
As a young single mother in Canada, Mallette struggled financially and relied on help from family and friends. She remained closely involved in her son’s upbringing and supported his growing interest in music from an early age.
Justin began performing in local talent competitions, while videos of his performances were later uploaded online. Those recordings attracted the attention of music manager Scooter Braun, helping launch the young singer’s professional career.
